Cat Flu and Carrier Cat

Are you aware that cat flu is a disease that is really contagious? This is the reason why you should vaccinate your cat or cats against cat flu, otherwise, they would become at high risk of acquiring cat flu. Cat flu is considered lethal especially for really young cats.

Cats can get infected when they inhale virus-rich air droplets from infected cats that sneeze or cough. This is why you need to identify an infected cat (or a cat that is suspected to be a cat flu virus carrier) immediately and isolate it from other cats or pets in your household. If you happen to have multiple cats inside your house, you need to immediately separate the litter box and food bowl of the infected cat from the rest of your cat's litter boxes and food bowls.

You should watch out for two cat flu viruses: the Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR) and Feline Calicivirus (FCV). Talk with your vet Louisville, KY about the best way to protect your pet from these illnesses.
