Why your dog chases her tail

Your dog tends to chase her tail from time to time. While you do find it amusing, you’ve often wondered why she tends to engage in this behavior. Is there a reason for it?

Your pet needs to be able to entertain herself both with and without toys. Chasing her tail allows her to do this without a lot of space being needed. It’s a fun activity that gives her some exercise and allows her to see a part of her body she doesn’t check out much up close. This also allows her to entertain you, which may cause her to continue the behavior. Check her over if she is doing this often or doesn’t seem to be enjoying herself, as she may be trying to address an issue in this area of her body and is having trouble reaching it.
