Eye Scratch in Cats

If you own a cat then you’re probably familiar with how much they like to sleep and prowl. Some cats can get into a little trouble when chasing their favorite prey. If your cat comes in with an apparent eye injury or scratch, please call your vet. In some cases, a cat may blink her eye excessively if there is a scratch. The eye may also tear up or become extremely watery. In some cases, the white of the eye will be appear to be red or irritated. If possible, check your cat’s eye for any debris or foreign objects. You may be able to see a scratch with your own naked eye; however, your vet will need to take a closer look. Some vets use an eye stain that can be put into the eye and then reveal possible scratches. Consult with your veterinarians Murrieta, CA  for more details.
