Disaster Plan for Dogs

If you needed to leave your house in a hurry due to an evacuations or an emergency would you and your family be prepared? What about your family dog? Before an emergency happens it’s a good idea to put together a disaster plan so you won’t have to do the guessing in the midst of a crisis. First, write down where you and your family will evacuate to if needed. Plan ahead by calling around to find out what hotels will take dogs or what shelters will allow dogs during a crisis. Write this down. This is your designated spot. Make a list of the things you need to take with you for your dog. You can put together a disaster kit for your dog as well. Write in your plan where the kit is stored so it can be retrieved quickly. Need help writing a disaster plan? Give your animal hospital Bruce Crossing MI a call.
