Don’t Let Your Guinea Pig Get Lonely

Guinea pigs are social animals so your pet will enjoy being with you. If you leave your guinea pig alone for long periods of time, he will get lonely. So if your work or recreation schedule prevents you from being home with your guinea pig, consider getting a companion guinea pig to keep him company. But even with two guinea pigs, they will need your attention when you are home. Position your guinea pig’s enclosure so he can interact with your family and observe the hubbub in your home. However, keep the enclosure outside the main flow of household traffic so your guinea pig can rest in private as needed. Ensure that you play with your guinea pig outside his enclosure daily so he can exercise and socialize. Encourage all family members interact with your guinea pig to stave off loneliness.
