Why do Dogs Chase Their Tails?

Some canines can be pretty strange if not even a little crazy in some of their behavioral traits. For example, some dogs eat grass, some dogs eat their own poop, some dogs chase their own paws and then there are some dogs that chase their own tails. Sure, there could be an underlying illness that is causing some of these behaviors. However, there are those cases in which the dogs simply have these odd behaviors. For dogs that chase their tails there could be no reason or there could be several reasons. For instance, puppies often chase their tails because they’re just learning they have one and are being playful. Some puppies may learn that tail chasing will get them attention. Older dogs tend to chase their tails because there’s something irritating them like a tick, flea or other parasite. Click to learn more or call your veterinary clinic Sugar Land, TX.
