Registering Your Cat Locally
Did you know that some states, counties, cities, towns, regions, etc. require you to register your pet with them? Registration is generally required once a year either around the first of the year or around midyear. If you are a new cat owner then you will need to fill out a registration form. Your vet will be able to tell you if you need to register in your area and what is required. For instance, registration generally includes something along the lines of going to the town clerk’s office and completing a form or having your vet mail in a certificate to a local state or county agency stating your cat is compliant with all required vaccinations. A fee may be required along with a copy of the vaccination records or at least a rabies vaccine statement. If you don’t have copies of these medical records, call your veterinary clinic Salem, VA for help.
