Why your dog digs in the yard

Your dog loves to play outside and he is often happy to spend time with you in this environment. However, you’ve noticed that he tends to dig a lot when spending time in your yard as well. Why does he do this?

Digging is an interesting activity for him to take part in. This is because it helps him pass the time, get some exercise, and have some fun all at once. Digging lets him check out what’s just underneath the grass. He may have wanted to see what lies beyond the surface of the ground, to follow a bug or rodent into a hole, or to dig up an area to hide a favored belonging in for safekeeping. He may also be digging just because it’s something to do when he doesn’t have any other options that are striking his interest. For more information, please contact your local Leesburg, VA vet.
