Measuring a Dog's Actual Age

Do you own a dog? If so, then you’ve probably noticed that dogs seem to age a lot quicker than people. For instance, your dog is considered a senior at around the age of 7 or 8. A typical lifespan of a dog is around 12 to 15 years. These are of course human years. So what are these years in actual dog years? For large dogs you can figure out the age in dog’s real age by multiplying the current age (i.e. 8 years old in people years) by 7. An 8 yr old dog in people years is really 56 in dog years. When your dog reaches the age of 12 he’s actually around 84. No wonder he looks old and has slowed down a huge amount!
