Dogs and Seatbelts

Did you know that there are different kinds of seatbelts designed just for dogs? In fact, some states or regions actually require dogs riding in cars to be secured by some sort of seatbelt. The types of seatbelts available include safety seat belts, seat harnesses, and car seats available for your dog. Your vet can help you determine if a seatbelt is required in your area for your dog. He can also help you pick the right type of safety harness or seatbelt for your particular dog. For example, smaller dogs often ride much better when they are in a doggy car seat. The seat keeps them secure and puts them up a bit higher so they can see out the window. A larger dog, however, may do better in a seatbelt harness due to weight and height. Talk to your vet Butler County for more tips.
