Can Dogs Eat Real Meat?

Your dog is a carnivore but that doesn’t mean he needs to eat real meat. He can easily get his vitamins, minerals and supplements from wet dog food or dry dog food. If you think he’s missing out on something, talk to your vet. Let your vet know what brand your dog is eating. Your vet can suggest other foods similar in ingredients. He can also suggest treats and chew toys that can provide what your dog needs including something to eat and chew on. Feeding real meat on more than one occasion isn’t advised. If you do feed real meat then keep the portion small and only feed what was approved by the vet. Meats are generally OK (i.e. beef and fish). Chicken and pork are said to be fed in smaller portions.
