Teeth Brushing for Dogs

Dogs needs to have their teeth brushed regularly in order to maintain healthy teeth and gums. If your dog has constant bad breath that never goes away or appears to be getting worse then he could have the beginning stages of gingivitis or another type of gum disease. This is due to plaque and tartar buildup as the result of food build-up. Many vets recommend brushing your dog’s teeth daily or at least two to three times a week. You can brush the teeth with a dentist-approved toothbrush and toothpaste or simply use a piece of cloth or gauze to wipe the teeth. You may use water and baking soda mixed as toothpaste as long as you check with your vet first. Dental treats are also good for breaking down food buildup naturally.
