Playtime With Your Cat

Your cat needs to play every day for exercise, mental stimulation and socialization. Schedule a dedicated playtime daily of about fifteen or twenty minutes. Always use toys when you play with your cat. Otherwise you might get scratched accidently if she becomes overly excited. Select toys that stimulate your cat’s hunting instincts such as a ball, laser pointer or fishing rod toy with a feather lure. These toys will entice your cat to chase, pounce and jump. Give your cat empty boxes and bags that she can use as lairs to hide and ambush unsuspecting prey whether it is a squeaky toy or your slippers. Catnip makes playtime even more active since it can cause your cat to run around and act crazy. Don’t forget to give your cat time to explore you and your home. And cuddle time is an absolute must for your cat. Contact your veterinarian Seminole, FL.
