Adopting a Senior Dog

Adopting a senior is a big responsibility that not many people are able to take on. If you have the free time to give one on one care to a senior canine then talk with your vet and local shelters about adopting a senior. Senior dogs may or may not need special care depending on their health. Some seniors may remain perfectly healthy until the time of death when their body naturally shuts down due to age. Other seniors, however, may have illnesses or special needs such as incontinence, liver or kidney failure, hearing loss and vision loss to name a few. These seniors will need frequent trips to the vet for medication and monitoring and one on one time at home especially if they can’t hear or see. Finances, time and emotional and physical support is needed. If this sounds like you, call your vet Frisco, TX.
