Keeping Your Cat Hydrated

During the warmer months of the year you may notice that your cat is drinking a lot more. This is great. It’s important for your cat to stay hydrated especially when it’s warm outside. You can help encourage your cat to drink more water by placing additional water bowls in the house and outside. Keep them filled with fresh, cool water. A cat fountain inside the home is a great idea too. Moving water attracts cats and can also encourage them to drink. It also keeps the water moving which keeps it fresh longer. If your cat doesn’t drink very much, try to add wet food to her diet as another source of water. If your cat still doesn’t drink much and appears lethargic, call your vets Frisco, TX. Your cat may be dehydrated and in need of veterinarian intervention and even fluids via IV.
