Dogs and Crate Training

Crate training is pretty popular among some leading dog trainers. They often recommend crate training so that your dog can learn to become comfortable and content in his crate. Should you have to place your dog in the crate due to an emergency or to keep him from approaching someone or something he will be perfectly happy to oblige. Dogs that aren’t used to crates can be terrified of being locked inside the metal contraption. You can help your dog not be afraid by placing the crate in a general area with the door open. Add your dog’s toys or blankets to the inside and give him a chance to smell around and explore. If your dog goes in then reward him. Don’t close the door. When your dog is ready you can close the door. For more tips, call your veterinary clinic San Antonio, TX.
