Cleaning Your Turtle’s Habitat or Tank

Taking care of a pet turtle includes a lot of things such as providing food and water, playing with him, spending time with him and making sure his tank or habitat is clean. Here are some useful tips for keeping your turtle’s tank clean. As a general rule of thumb, plan to thoroughly clean your turtle’s tank inside and out at least once every other week or if the water appears extremely dirty. This will involve moving your turtle to a secure location, emptying the tank completely and then washing the tank and all of the scenery, water bowls, etc. For the tank, fill the tank a little less than half way with warm water and add a cup of white vinegar for every five gallons of water currently in the tank. Scrub the sides with a cloth and rinse thoroughly. Return your turtle and his things back to the way it was prior to cleaning. For more tips, call your vets Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
