Exercising Your Dog

Making sure your dog gets enough exercise throughout the day is part of providing for his overall health and wellness. The amount of exercise your dog needs will depend on his breed, age, and physical abilities. For instance, a Golden Retriever that is around 2 years old and has no health deficiencies will need to go for two to three walks a day and have at least an hour of free time play whether it’s running around in the yard or playing fetch. A Golden Retriever that’s around 10 years old with arthritis will probably be fine with a few short walks each day. Smaller dogs like the Pomeranian tend to need frequent walks because of their high energy levels. Basset Hounds, however, do well with one medium walk a day.
