Keeping Your Bird Hydrated

As the warmer months start to roll in you should take extra time to make sure your bird is hydrated and healthy. You can do this by monitoring how much water you give him each day. For instance, fill up three bowls of water in his cage and check it throughout the day to ensure your bird is drinking it. If the water is dirty, clean it out and replace it with fresh, cool water. If you’re going to be away for the day or longer, add extra water bowls and a water bottle to ensure your bird has plenty of access to water. In addition, if it’s extremely hot, you can use a water bottle to spray a fine mist of water on your bird. This will help him stay cool as well. If you notice your bird is not drinking or your bird looks lethargic, call your North Phoenix, AZ veterinary clinic immediately.
