Annual Wellness Checkups for Your Dog

Did you know that your canine companion should have a yearly or annual wellness checkup with your local vet? Annual wellness checkups can be once a year or once every six months depending on the dogs age and health history. In general, annual wellness checkups are once a year. These involve a complete physical exam and often routine blood work and a urinalysis. This is a great time to ask your vet any health questions concerning your dog. You should also review behavior issues, habits and diet. Tell your vet what your feeding your dog and what kind of exercise your dog gets. What worked for last year may not work again this next year especially as your canine continues to age. Your Columbia, MD vet can help you establish and up to date diet and exercise routine as well as ensure your dog is up to date on vaccinations.
