Rules of the Road: Dog Walking
Walking your dog is a great way to exercise your dog and yourself. It’s also a great way to help your dog release stored energy both physically and mentally. Finding the best place to walk your dog, however, can be difficult if you don’t have a large yard, a community sidewalk, or a dog park or regular park of some kind. If you have to resort to walking your dog in the road, know that walking the road has rules. For instance, walk towards oncoming traffic and stay to the side of the road. If possible, walk on the shoulder or grassy area of the road. Avoid walking on highways or interstates as these are simply not safe. Wear bright clothing and avoid walking in the early morning or late evening hours when you and your pup are less visible. Your vet care Woodstock, GA may also suggest dressing your dog in reflective gear as well.
