Pimples and Acne In Cats

Cats can also get pimples and acne. You may have noticed that your cat’s face and chin is covered with small growth and bumps. These are actually pimples and acne, which, without veterinary attention can worsen and may even become infected.

The most common cause of acne in cats is poor hygiene. Just like humans, a cat can develop pimples and acne when the skin pores become clogged as a result of exposure to dirt and dust. There are instances when they become itchy, causing the cat to scratch them persistently, making the problem even worse. Scratching can lead to injury which can pave the way for the invasion and multiplication of bacteria, causing the pimples to become infected.

Bring your pet to your Washington DC veterinary clinic for proper attention and treatment.
