Does My Lizard Need to Exercise?

Believe it or not, pet lizards actually need to exercise at least 30 minutes a day. The 30 minutes doesn’t have to be all at once, however, the lizard definitely needs to up and out moving about. Try letting your lizard out of his cage for about 10 minutes giving him the freedom to roam in the safe and secure areas of your home. Reward your lizard with a treat when it’s time to bring him back in his cage. This will help him associate outside time with positive reward. Some experts recommend 15 or 20 minutes of exercise at least three time a week to help keep your lizard happy. Don’t just let your lizard roam absent mindedly either. Set up a play area and put out your lizard’s toys. Encourage him to play with you. Slide a treat around for him to follow as well.
