Does My Cat Need Ice Shoes?

Your cat most likely does not need ice shoes. Cats are pretty coordinated and balanced on their feet. Like dogs they have nails that can extend out to provide grip when on icy surfaces. However, unlike dogs, they have a little more claw and nail expansion giving them even more traction. If your cat still has trouble walking on the ice then perhaps shoes may help. You can look at local pet stores, online, and at outdoor sporting goods store for ice shoes for cats. You may need to buy a small set of puppy ice shoes for dogs if the store doesn’t carry cat shoes. If possible, take your cat with you to have her try on the shoes or try them out if allowed. Allow your cat to wear the shoes a little bit at a time in order to adjust to the shoes.
