Being Generous Can Increase Your Cat’s Predisposition To Obesity

Many cat parents tend to be generous when it comes to offering food and treats to their pets because they believe it is a good way to show their care and affection. If you are guilty of this practice, are you aware that you are increasing your pet’s risk to piling on the pounds and to certain serious health issues? A lack of regular exercise can also contribute further to the issue. Overweight or obese pets need additional attention from their owners. Being overweight or obese can increase a pet’s risk to serious health problems including heart and kidney problems, diabetes, various types of cancers, and even painful joint problems. Also, obese cats are not as flexible as before. They are not unable to groom their entire body efficiently because they have difficulty reaching certain parts of their body.
