Getting Along with Your Roommate’s Cat

Moving in with a new roommate can be a lot of fun. That is, until you discover they have a cat that is less than friendly! Fortunately, there are some things you can do to get along with your new feline companion.

Give the cat plenty of space. Don’t try and force him on your lap, and don’t try and pet him. Let him come to you. Let him sniff your hand before you interact with him, and he’ll let you know if he’s interested in the attention.

Become a source of food and treats, and the cat will surely warm up to you! Ask your roommate if you can be the one to feed him for a week, and give him a treat every day when you get home.

Playing with the cat can help too! For more tips, click here, or call your veterinarian White Rock, TX.
