Apartment Life and Your Cat

Cats make great pets for people apartments dwellers. Cats can stay inside at all times, don’t take up much room, and they’re relatively quiet so they won’t disturb the neighbors. However, before adopting a cat, check your lease. Some landlords won’t allow any pets while others restrict pet ownership by species, number or size. Your may need to pay an extra security deposit or a little extra in your rent if you have a cat. Next set up your apartment to make it a fun home for your new pet. Provide an eating/drinking station and a litter box in separate areas of the apartment. Give your cat a bed and provide high perches where she can observe her territory in safety from a high vantage point. Let her have access to the rest of the apartment to find lairs where she can be alone. For more information, contact your Indianapolis, IN veterinarian.
