Dog Bathing Hacks

Most dogs really don't care for being bathed. Even pups that love swimming often get reluctant about being sudsed up and scrubbed. To be fair, doggy bath time isn't really fun for people, either. You may very well end up soaked and covered in dog fur and shampoo.

There are a few things you can do to make this process easier for your pet and yourself. One option is to work on desensitization training. Call your pooch into the bathroom, have him hop into the tub, and give him a yummy treat. Make this something really high-quality, like bits of steak. Keep doing this until your pet decides that a bathtub is a happy place.

You may also have seen videos of people smearing peanut butter on their showers. Ultimately, if it works, it's not a horrible thing. Just make sure to clean the tile before and after. You don't want your pet eating residue from soap or cleansers. Also, be sure to use peanut butter that does not contain xylitol.

Ask your veterinarian Smyrna, GA vet for specific advice on your dog's grooming needs.
