Beagles and Nosebleeds

Nosebleeds can be a common occurrence in dogs, including the Beagle. If you see that your Beagle’s nose is bleeding and you’re not sure why, please call your vet. There could be several reasons for your Beagle’s nose to bleed all of which need immediate veterinary care for a diagnosis and treatment. Sometimes, dogs develop a condition called coagulopathy which is where the blood does not clot as it should. Other causes include wounds or injuries that might not be apparent such as snake bites. Nose bleeds could also be the signal of a more serious condition like cancer, leukemia or other diseases. It’s important not to panic, but to take your Beagle to the vet right away. Your vet will be able to run tests to determine what the cause of the nose bleed is. Suggested treatments will also be discussed. Click here to learn more from your vets Louisville, CO.
